ooprano Amy Bullard’s crystal clear and beautifully rich voice has delighted audiences and critics, both in the U. S. and abroad. She was most recently in residence with the Vlaamse (Flemish) Opera in Belgium, singing supporting roles and ensembles. In April of this year she performed with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, singing First Elf in Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Mattie Kelly Center.
She received her Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and is a graduate of the famed arts high school "LACHSA".
Her operatic roles include Blondchen in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Frasquita in Carmen, Despina in Così fan tutte, Cunegonde in Candide, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Soeur Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites, Adele in Die Fledermaus, Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte, Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica, Emmie in Albert Herring, and Erste Dienerin/Erste Kinderstimme in Die Frau ohne Schatten.
While a member of the opera studio at the Aspen Music Festival she sang the title role in Janacek's Příhody Lišky Bystroušky (Cunning Little Vixen) and Etherea in Brouček. At the Bay View Music Festival in Michigan she performed Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte.
Ms. Bullard has performed as a soloist with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, Vlaamse Opera, Opera Nova, Center Stage Opera, Intimate Opera, the Heidelberg Arts Ensemble, Bakersfield Symphony, San Bernardino Symphony, Glendale Symphony, Zimriah Chorale, and the Los Angeles Viennese Culture Club. She has earned top prizes and honors from the Los Angeles Music Center, the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Opera Buffs, the Ojai Festival, and more.
As a musical ambassador, Ms. Bullard performed with the United States Army USAREUR Band in goodwill concerts in Germany. She can also be heard on the ensemble's 2011 holiday concert recording commissioned by music enthusiast, 4 Star General Carter Ham. In November, the Belgian Ambassador to the U.S. personally invited her to perform for his guests at the official residence in Georgetown.
Equally passionate about sacred repertoire, Ms. Bullard has sung hundreds of concerts in a wide range of churches in the U. S. and Europe. She was chosen to be a cantor and soloist for the highly publicized and televised dedication services at Our Lady of the Angels, Los Angeles' new catholic cathedral, leading mass for 3,000 live parishioners and broadcast to countless millions.
Ms. Bullard currently lives and sings in the Washington D.C. area.
